Description
The Dell 15 laptop with Linux — a real laptop, configured the way it should have been from the factory.
The Dell 15 laptop with Linux Mint Cinnamon is one of the most practical machines Dell currently makes — once we’ve stripped out what Dell ships and replaced it with a private operating system. A 15.6-inch FHD 120Hz display. A full-size keyboard with numeric keypad. Real ports — USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and an SD card slot. None of the soldered-down compromises that have crept into too many laptops.
We buy it brand new from Dell Australia. We open the box. We wipe the operating system Dell ships with. We install Linux Mint Cinnamon in its place — properly configured, hardened for privacy, every driver tested before it leaves us.
What you get back is a full-power Dell laptop that does everything you bought a computer to do — browsing, email, documents, video calls, photos, music, streaming — without the surveillance layer Microsoft builds into every Windows install.
Two configurations. One quality standard.
You’re choosing between two real configurations from the same Dell chassis. Same 15.6″ FHD 120Hz display. Same full-size keyboard. Same ports. Same Linux Mint Cinnamon install. Same hand-tested build standard. The differences are about how hard you plan to work the machine.
Entry — i5 / 8GB / 512GB · $1,224 inc GST
Intel Core i5-1334U, 8GB DDR4, 512GB NVMe SSD. Comfortable for everyday use — browsing, email, documents, streaming, video calls. If your computer mostly sits on the desk and gets used a few hours a day, this is the right config.
Best — i7 / 16GB / 1TB · $1,625 inc GST
Intel Core i7-1355U, 16GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe SSD, larger 54Wh battery. Faster processor, more memory, twice the storage, longer battery life. The right pick if the laptop is your main work machine and you’ll keep it for years.
Built individually. Not pre-flashed in a factory.
Every Dell 15 we ship is configured one at a time, in Australia, by us. Not by a script overseas. Not flashed in bulk. By hand, on a workbench, with the install verified end-to-end before it leaves us.
That’s why we charge a flat labour fee on top of Dell’s hardware price — and why we don’t apply a percentage markup. The labour to set up a Dell 15 is the same as the labour to set up any other Linux laptop in our range. The hardware price changes. The standard doesn’t.

What this laptop is not
It’s not a gaming laptop. It’s not a video-editing workstation. It’s not a Lunar Lake premium build (we sell the Dell 16 Plus separately for that). It’s a properly built, fairly priced 15.6″ laptop running a private operating system, made for people who want a computer that works for them — not against them.
If you need more screen, more performance, or the latest Intel hardware, look at our Dell 16 or Dell 16 Plus options.
