The Encrypted LUKS USB suits crypto holders, anyone carrying sensitive documents, and anyone who has decided their backups do not belong on someone else’s servers.
It uses LUKS, the standard disk encryption built into Linux. The whole drive is encrypted rather than individual files, so the contents are unreadable without your passphrase. Lose the drive and whoever finds it has a brick.
Linux only. Read this before you buy.
LUKS is unlocked by Linux, so as it comes this drive opens on a Linux computer and nowhere else. It will not open on a phone, an iPad, a Windows PC or a Mac.
If you own a FreedomTech privacy or crypto computer it works the moment you plug it in. If you do not run Linux, this is not the drive for you, so contact us and we will point you at something that suits.
